Time passes, but the image of the screen icon and her diamonds remains the same. The relationship between the beautiful Princess Grace of Monaco and Cartier is legendary, cemented from the beginning of her love affair with Prince Rainier in 1955, until her death in 1982. In this time, Cartier designed many pieces for her, including her engagement ring in 1956, a diamond choker and tiara as a wedding present, as well as multiple brooches throughout the 1950's.
So Cartier was the obvious choice to provide the jewels for Olivier Dahan's film Grace of Monaco,based on the life of Grace Kelly, bringing a touch of reality to the biopic. Nicole Kidman will star as the princess and has the honor of wearing the five recreations of original pieces in the title role, created especially by the label's design experts for the film.
One of the pieces recreated for the film is this necklace with three row of diamonds. Kidman is wearing the reproduction in the photo above and below is a photo of Grace Kelly wearing the original.
This beautiful tiara, worn by Kidman, is another of the reproductions for the film.
A reproduction of the engagement ring given to Grace by Prince Ranier has been made for the film.
Several of Grace's brooches have also been recreated and will be featured in the upcoming film.
