PEERING THROUGH SKETCHBOOKS

Carrying on from yesterdays posting about the Sketchbook Project tour to London look at the stunning book of Kim Tillyer's of North Yorkshire.
As you can see from the front cover Kim's theme was "Fears and Tears", her sketching is exquisite and I wanted to take it home with me.

This is the book that was next to Kim's

This is the book of Emma Elizabeth Clease from Devizes, Wiltshire and her theme was "Fabulous Florals"
I love this book each page is hand painted, stitched and has cutouts.  You can see the back of the painted/stitched pages are as attractive as the front.

Before I ran out of time I looked at Margaret Chalmers book, she is from Leeds and her theme was "Stitches and Folds".  It was cleverly done using words, tags and pin pricked patterning.

This book is the one that was on the shelf next to Margaret's.  It belongs to
Henrietta Coppes of the Netherlands.  I was so glad to have been given the chance to see as it was really effective.  Both Sally and I wanted to take it home.

Sadly I ran out of time as we were heading off to see War Horse at the New London Theatre.  Otherwise I could quite easily have stayed a lot longer.

If anyone wants to have a go next year you can find out more by going onto any of the links above.
