One month and eighteen days in Germany, and I can’t even begin to explain all the things I have done. From spontaneously taking a train to Düsseldorf to discovering the best tasting Döner in Remagen, the last couple of weeks have been packed full of escapades!
Nevertheless, my two fondest adventures were: firstly, the night of the First Semester AStA party. Almost all the international students plus some extras squished into my room at the Wohnheim (very squishy). We laughed, listened to music, and took loads of photos before we left to join the real party in Bad Breisig, and a real party it was! The ecstatic, sunny energy coming from all the RAC students made me feel like I was going to a live Beatles concert! I have never seen speakers so big, music so loud, and if you stood in front of the DJ you could feel the bass pulsing through your body! This night was definitely one to remember.
My second fond memory was the first time I was able to order McDonalds in perfect Deutsch and give the exact change. The reason this was a massive highlight is that every university student needs this skill and it clearly demonstrates that my Deutsch is improving dramatically!
